Title: Tantraya ?
Post by: nothing on July 04, 2017, 02:32:40 pm
Hullo
It appears that Dhamma arrived in Australia in 1222 when king Kritajaya escaped a rebellion in Java....( long story).
Do you think this ceremony resembles Tantraya healing?  In south Australia , Lake Eyre is Kati Thanda "meeting place of bosses" or in Old Javanese kuti tanda " Buddhist monastery. headman"/
tantu "world-order".

Rev. W. Watson's Journal from Apl 1st to June 30th 1835
"  .. to celebrate Waganna (a dance) to Baiami (god)..   .The natives say that when Baiami gave the "Gudthi"  (song) which they now chant  to him, he gave them also wooden gods which after the first celebration of the "Waganna"  they burnt. He also commanded them to use small Twigs about 9 inches in length which they were to beat against each other in the "Waganna' and then to burn them..These Twigs are named "Mudthir' from Mudthirra which signifies repeated beating or, thrashing.  . The natives say Baiami is not to be lightly spoke of, nor his song taken in vain."

No, Atma (my person) has nothing to do with either "Buddhists" nor Hindu stuff, so with tantra as well. Just thought because Nothing is after "Hindu" und Tantra suff that he might like to see another of the 1001 dances aside the path. Put lable on it what ever you like. Thats the more naked version.

himmel segeln:

"When the lake is full, a notable phenomenon is that around midday
the surface can often become very flat. The surface then reflects
the sky in a way that leaves both the horizon and water surface virtually
impossible to see. The commodore of the Lake Eyre Yacht Club has
stated that sailing during this time has the appearance of sailing in
the sky."

www.environment.sa.gov.au/.../Kati_Thanda-Lake_Eyre_National_Park (http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/.../Kati_Thanda-Lake_Eyre_National_Park)
Although the Ngarabana prefer that no-one walks on the lake because of their spiritual
beliefs, walking on the lake's edge is permitted providing no damage to the local environment
 occurs.
( " you are on holy grounds when visiting a Buddhist temple  ... Take off your
shoes in or around the temple grounds.")

".. traditional owners around the lake, such as the Adnyamathanha,  had used different names but they accepted Kati Thanda  " meeting place of bosses"..

Tamil thandha / tanta means  " - given . from", as in deivam thandha "god-given".

தேவன்  தந்த

 குடிசை   தந்த  kuticai tanta " from cottage" ( or " from temple-committee .  temple-given" ) .

In Indonesia , Old Javanese language ( 800-1300 AD).  kuṭi   (Skt hut, cottage)  means  " Buddhist monastery."
tanda "category of dignitaries or officials. headman ".

Yes , nothing , that's interesting. Another interesting idea is Nekkhamma renunciation , having no attachment in the world .
"The name Gamilaraay consists of two parts: gamil meaning 'no' and araay meaning 'having', that is 'the people who have gamil for no'. This method of naming people after their word for 'no' is widespread throughout New South Wales and Victoria; for example, the western neighbours of the Gamilaraay, the Yuwaalaraay, are people having waal for 'no'.

 भेद   bheda   "dualism"
(Skt)  "separation, division, partition; distinction, difference".
